Customs Chennai Recruitment 2026

 

Customs Chennai has released the recruitment notification to fill the 10 Tradesman, Seaman, Greaser Posts. You can get the application form in PDF format from the official website at https://chennaicustoms.gov.in/. The deadline for receiving the completed application and its attachments is April 30, 2026. Candidates must thoroughly study the Customs Chennai Group C notification and confirm their eligibility before submitting an application

Tradesman, Seaman, Greaser Posts

காலிப்பணியிடங்கள்  :

                                 10 பணியிடம் காலியாக உள்ளது.

கல்வி தகுதி : 

1. Tradesman – 
   • Essential: 1. I.T.I Trade Certificate in Mechanic/Diesel/Fitter/Turner/ Welder/Electrician/ Instrumental/Carpentary 2. X/10th Std pass  or equivalent 3. 2 years experience in Engineering/Automobile/Ship Repair organization. 
   • Desirable: 1. Experience in FRP Lamination and repair work (Fiber class Re-enforce plastic) 2. First aid/ Fire Fighting/Industrial Safety Course.
2. Seaman – 
   • Essential: 1. X/10th Std pass or equivalent. 2. Three years experience in sea going mechanized vessel with two years in helmsman and seamanship work. 
   • Desirable: 1. The Marine Mercantile Department awarded a certificate of competency as a “member of fishing vessel.”
3. Greaser – 
   • Essential: 1. X/10th Std pass or equivalent. 2. Three years experience in sea going mechanized vessel on main and auxiliary machinery maintenance. 
   • Desirable: 1. Certificate of competency as “Engine Driver of fishing vessel” issued by Marine Mercantile Department. 

வயது வரம்பு :

1. Tradesman – Not more than 25 years
2. Seaman – 18 to 25 years 
3. Greaser – 18 to 25 years 

Relaxation of Upper age limit: 

• +5 Years for ST/SC  
• +3 Years for OBC (NCL)  
• Persons with Disabilities candidate:
  • +10 Years for UR  
  • +13 Years for OBC (NCL)  
  • +15 Years for ST/SC
• For Ex-Servicemen Applicants: As per Govt. Policy

சம்பளம் : 

1. Tradesman – Level 2 Rs.19,900 – 63200/-
2. Seaman – Level 1 Rs.18,000 – 56,900/- 
3. Greaser – Level 1 Rs.18,000 – 56,900/- 

தேர்வு செய்யும் முறை:

• Written Examination 
• Physical Endurance Test (PET) (Swimming)

விண்ணப்பிக்கும் முறை :

• The advertisement and applications form, educational qualification and terms & conditions are available on the Departmental website https://chennaicustoms.gov.in. Candidates should frequently check the website provided above for any important announcements, updates, or additional instructions. Separate application should be submitted for each post. 
• The envelope (28 cms x 13 cms) containing the application must be super-scribed in bold letter as APPLICATION FOR MARINE WING POST- CUSTOMS (PREVENTIVE) COMMISSIONERATE, CHENNAI and also indicate the POST APPLIED FOR and CATEGORY at the left side corner of the envelope. 
• The Application form in the prescribed format with relevant attached photocopies of educational qualification, proof of Age, Category, essential and desirable certification etc. wherever necessary and four unsigned passport size photographs and two self-addressed unstamped envelopes of 25 cms x 12 cms are to be sent by Ordinary post/Speed post addressed to: The Additional Commissioner Of Customs (establishment), Office Of The Commissioner Of Customs (general), 2nd Floor, Krishna Block, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-600001 Email Id – Cuschn-estt@gov.in.
